Guy Pearce comes home to go bush in local short for Flickerfest
One day he's on a futuristic backlot in Sydney, shooting the big-budget epic Alien: Covenant with blockbuster master Ridley Scott. The next he's in the Victorian bush shooting a 15-minute thriller with a couple of budding local filmmakers.
It's an unusual trajectory for an international A-lister but Guy Pearce doesn't see it like that.
"Everyone keeps telling me, 'Wow, that's so very generous of you to do this film,' " he says. "But I feel if you're an actor and you come across a good script from good people, you've got to do it. There's no reason not to."
Pearce, 49, stars in the short Lorne, showing at this week's Flickerfest, the 26th edition of the prestigious short film festival which has its annual premiere under the stars at the Bondi Pavilion…
